Frequently asked questions
If an accident has occurred, take the following steps:
1. Contact the relevant emergency services or authority immediately so that rescue operations can be carried out and the circumstances and cause of the accident can be recorded:
- if anyone has been injured — call the Emergency Medical Service on 113;
- if there has been a fire — call the State Fire and Rescue Service on 112;
- if there is a gas leak — call the Gas Emergency Service on 114;
- if there is a possibility that the incident was caused by the actions of another person — report it immediately to the State Police on 110;
- if an animal has been injured or is ill — contact a vet immediately;
- if there is a leak of liquid or vapour — report it to the building manager, if there is one.
2. Try to prevent further damage — as far as possible, without putting yourself at risk, do everything you can to save property and animals and minimise the extent of the damage.
3. Keep the scene of the incident undisturbed — once rescue work has been carried out, keep the scene of the incident and the remains of the damaged insured property as undisturbed as possible, and take photographs of the damage.
4. Report the claim — report the claim to My BTA as soon as possible, including by completing and attaching the claim form available in the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section.

Yes, once a claim has been received, BTA always sends an agronomist to inspect the damaged crops. The agronomist will contact the customer to agree on a date and time for the inspection.
We examine each claim on a case-by-case basis, assessing whether an on-site visit by an expert is necessary. If an on-site visit is required, the expert will contact the customer to agree on a date and time for the visit.
We pay out the insurance claim immediately after a decision has been made. If the insured property has been pledged to a bank or acquired under a lease, we pay out the claim after receiving confirmation from the bank or leasing company.
We will make a decision no later than 15 days after receiving all the necessary documents.
