BTA donates EUR 30,000 to the CCUH Parent’s House
In its pursuit to take care of the support of different groups of population, BTA Baltic Insurance Company AAS (hereinafter – BTA) donates EUR 30,000 the Parent’s House of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital (hereinafter – CCUH), as well as continues with a tradition started a couple of years before, and this year as well presents the Parent’s House with Property insurance.
At the beginning of 2022, BTA’s sustainability and social responsibility projects – BTA Velomaster and I Do Good for Nature – received the prestigious Günter Geyer Award for Social Responsibility 2021. To support parents whose offsprings have fallen ill and are hospitalized, BTA decided to donate the prize fund of the Günter Geyer Award for Social Responsibility 2021 of EUR 30,000 to the CCUH’s Parent’s House. This donation will help to sustain the primary services of the Parent's House, to restore the facade of the building, and also help to carry out improvement works of the Parent's House.
Says BTA Management Board Member Evija Matveja: “BTA, being a socially responsible company, is eager to support sustainability related and various social group supporting projects. We do care about the wellbeing of children and their parents, therefore, upon receipt the Günter Geyer Award for Social Responsibility 2021, it was a no-brainer for us that we donate the entire prize fund to a noble cause – the Parent’s House. We will keep on supporting social responsibility and sustainability projects in the future.”
Liene Indrāne, the Manager of the Parent’s House, emphasizes: “Presence of parents is of utmost importance for an ill child, although parents often tend to neglect themselves in totally focusing on their child. Therefore, we at the Parent’s House, exert all efforts to provide mums and dads a facility to regain energy, as a rested and fresh parent will also be a better support to its child. We are sincerely grateful to BTA for the generous donation, which will support us in the Parent’s House facade restoration works, as well as make the stay of mums and dads at the Parent’s House yet cosier.”
Since 2011, the Parent’s House provides a broad scope of assistance to parents, who need to stay at the hospital. Within just a dozen of steps from the hospital departments, parents find here a cosy place to stay overnight as well as to receive professional psychologic and mental support. The Parent’s House is a donation-based unit of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
