BTA employees’ Children’s Day this year – together with Imants Ziedonis museum and the foundation “Viegli”
The third BTA Baltic Insurance Company (BTA) employees’ Children’s Day this year brought together a record high number of participants – more than 180 children of ages spanning from 2 to 17. BTA’s support to the "Izgaismot Latviju" (“To lighten Latvia”) project of the Imants Ziedonis museum resulted in further cooperation with the “Viegli” (Lightly) foundation’s creative team to demonstrate the versatility of Ziedonis’ world to the children of BTA employees.
It has been for the third year in a row already that children of BTA employees are welcomed to visit their parents’ workplace on the last day of their summer school holidays and get to know the insurance industry, plus a project that matters to BTA.
“Last year, the tune for the Children’s Day was set by our modern art project – BTA Art. We showed our children how exciting this kind of art could be. This year, we started great cooperation with Imants Ziedonis museum to support the translation of “Izgaismot Latviju” film and travelling exhibition into English. Thus, the idea was born to have our BTA Children’s Day this year be Ziedonis-themed, to bring this Latvian poetic eminence and his ideas closer to the younger generation. Although we are a digitally advanced company, we still appreciate books as a permanent value in shaping children’s fantasy, imagination and consciousness. This day, filled by Ziedonis’ poetic images and ideas he lived by – what a wonderful adventure!” emphasizes Evija Matveja, BTA Management Board Member.
Throughout the day, children could indulge in creative, intellectual, entertaining, educational and fascinating activities both in BTA’s Central office, as well as “Ziedonis klase” (Ziedonis’ classroom) at 2 Sporta Street, Riga, by solving puzzles to break-out of the fairy-tale world of Imants Ziedonis.
“One of the missions of Imants Ziedonis museum is promoting creativity and working with children, adolescents. We seek to inspire our partners, so than we, through interacting, are on the same wavelength. On behalf of the entire our team I can sincerely admit that together we succeeded in this, and we are truly happy at having companies these days taking care of fostering their values,” says Žaneta Grende, Council Member of Imants Ziedonis museum.
BTA employees’ Children’s Day this year took place in all three Baltic States, convening a total of more than 300 children.
