BTA and the Latvian National Sports Centre launch long-term cooperation to promote an active lifestyle
With a brand-new three-year collaboration contract SIA Latvijas Nacionālais sporta centrs (LNSC) and AAS BTA Baltic Insurance Company (BTA) plan to cooperate to popularise an active lifestyle in LNSC sports centres and communities throughout Latvia.
This is a significant step for BTA and LNSC, as this type of cooperation is being launched by both parties for the first time. BTA intends to allocate more than EUR 245 thousand over the three years for collaboration with LNSC. We likewise plan to work together to promote an active lifestyle by organising information campaigns. “We have been actively supporting sports events and sports teams for several years, and this partnership allows us to take the next step to strengthen the sports ecosystem in Latvia as a whole. We believe a healthy and active society is a long-term benefit for the entire country. So, we were looking for a reliable partner to cooperate. LNSC, as one of the largest and most important maintainers of sports infrastructure in Latvia, was a natural choice to work together to promote an active lifestyle,” says Oskars Hartmanis, Chairperson of the Board of BTA.
In a situation where the state has limited options to invest in sports, this partnership is an excellent form of collaboration to maintain quality sports infrastructure, while simultaneously encouraging and facilitating a healthy and active lifestyle.
“We believe collaboration between LNSC and BTA will set a positive example of public and private sector practice. BTA is a reliable and recognisable partner with whom we share values and vision, including the development of everyday and professional sports and the promotion of an active lifestyle. By diversifying LNSC’s total revenue portfolio for successful sustainable operations, BTA’s financial investment and the collaboration between LNSC and BTA will contribute to the accessibility of the sports environment in LNSC sports centres and also to the inspiration of active and healthy life in society as a whole,” says Daniēls Nātriņš, Chairperson of the Board of LNSC.
International experience shows that cooperation between the private and public sectors is a successful model for developing sports infrastructure and promoting access to sports for the public. In many parts of the world, companies are actively involved in helping modernise sports facilities, promote a healthy lifestyle, and support sports as a vital social value. BTA and LNSC hope that this example will encourage other companies in Latvia to invest in sports and create similar collaborations.
The collaboration comes into effect in March 2025 and will last for three years.
