What is Accident Insurance?

Offered by employers on the labour market within their social security, incentive, and loyalty promotion plans, Accident Insurance is a bonus which is highly appreciated by employees.

Accident Insurance envisages reimbursement of treatment expenses in cases of injuries, compensations in cases of disablement, and compensations as a percentage of the insurance coverage depending on the severity of the injury. The Accident Insurance coverage may also include the risk of critical medical conditions, which means payment of a compensation in case the patient is diagnosed for myocardial infarction, stroke, cancer, or any other serious condition, the risk of exposure to ionising radiation in cases when employees operate any systems which may cause a medical condition associated with exposure to ionising radiation, as well as other risks for extra security.

The Accident Insurance Policy will serve as significant financial support for your employees in case of an accident.

Why to choose BTA accident insurance?

Our advantages

  • We do take care to assure that each of our clients is treated individually, by assessing their type of business and number of employees in order to prepare a quote which meets the preferences of the client.
  • You yourself choose the risks you want to insure and also specify your preferred insurance coverage.
  • You can specify your preferred effective times of the policy (24 hours, business hours, including travel to and from work, during training/workout sessions, etc.) and the territory (Latvia, Europe, or the entire world).
  • When insuring the children of your employees, the Accident Insurance policy may include risks which envisage covering expenses for purchase of sweets, fruit, or cinema tickets for children as well as services of a private tutor. We are the only insurance company in Latvia which offers coverage for such risks.
  • By purchasing Accident Insurance for its employees, the employer may enjoy tax benefits.

What tax relief can the company receive?

By acquiring staff health insurance, pursuant to the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia, the company can receive the following tax relief:

  • the corporate income tax is not imposed on the insurance premium, which means the company can reduce its taxable revenue by the insurance premium payments;
  • the insurance premium payment is not subject to personal income tax, if the insurance premium does not exceed 10% of the gross annual salary of the insured and does not exceed 426.86 EUR;
  • Insurance premiums are not included in the mandatory social insurance contribution object, if the insurance premium does not exceed 10% of the gross annual salary of the insured and does not exceed 426.86 EUR.
