Insurer to pay for remote sports classes during the emergency situation
Encouraging people to a healthier lifestyle during the emergency situation period and in support of the sports clubs that are closed for attendance in person, BTA Baltic Insurance Company AAS (BTA) will pay for online sports activities for holders of its health insurance policy with included sports programme as complementary insurance cover, the covered activities will include online classes held by sports clubs as well as individual instructors.
Following the government’s imposed ban on meeting, sports clubs have not opened their doors this year to visitors, and will be precluded to do so yet at least until the 6th of April. Thus, part of those willing to exercise have remained without options to do so, especially the ones, who used to enjoy a benefit of BTA’s health insurance policy – sports classes, paid by the insurer.
Encouraging people to attend the online exercise sessions offered by sports clubs as well as individual instructors, BTA will also cover the classes held remotely, this will apply both to online real-time classes, as well as subscriptions to video-classes of recorded exercise instructions, enabling each customer to exercise at the time most convenient for him or her.
This initiative of BTA will enable sports fans to carry on with their habitual classes at their favourite sports club, or to discover a new, unusual hobby, as the insurer is going to pay for any sports session service accessible on the World Wide Web remotely. Even when its provider is not registered in Latvia.
Yet another benefit, offered by BTA to its customers under the Sports programme of BTA’s Health Insurance, is refunding the ski lift pass card costs within the programme’s sum insured limit for sports. This benefit was introduced with our snow-loving customer in mind, to be able to enjoy the Latvian winter (at last!) as much as possible by going to take a slope on skis or a snowboard.
“The decision to cover the online exercise sessions is not the only good news, we would like our customers to cheer up that the number of sports classes under the programme that has been unused in January, February and March, will be accumulated within the insurance period. It means that, with the spring nearing, people will have a chance to increase the intensity of their exercise, making up for the hibernation time, if not that active during winter, and to regain their sporting shape faster,“ BTA Personal Insurance Product Manager Oskars Zvejnieks broke the news. The exercise times for the previous months will be accumulated in the case, when the Sports limit has not been used at all during the month.
For a remote sports class to be refunded, the customer is required to submit the purchased subscription certificate, payment documentation and a report of visits made, when such is provided by the sports services provider.
