While there is a considerable growth in amounts of disbursed indemnities reaching 39.1 million euros, which makes it almost by 36% more that in the same period of the last year. It is mostly related to several Property insurance indemnity claims in Estonia. At the beginning of the year, the largest number of premiums was written in such insurance segments as Health, Property and KASKO insurance. As compared to the same period of the last year, the amount of premiums written in Health insurance increased by 14.7% and reached 10.2 million euros, in KASKO insurance – an increase of 10.1% was registered amounting to the sum total of 13.4 million euros, while in Property insurance the amount of gross written premiums reached 5.6 million euros, which makes it by 10.5% higher than last year. “Within the first three months of the year BTA was able to continue its even development throughout the three Baltic States. Estonia was marked by the largest growth, which made us satisfied, because we still consider this country to provide the largest opportunities for growth. The largest part of insurance claim cases claimed to and disbursed by BTA are still in KASKO and MTPL segments, which testifies that the quality of roads and the culture of driving in the Baltics requires a special focus. On the bright side, we have been observing a positive trend for many months now within voluntary types of insurance – residents throughought the Baltics request Property, Health and Private Accident insurance policies with ever-increasing frequency. It testifies that society and companies become ever more aware of necessity of insurance and of the meaning thereof in their day-to-day life”, recalls BTA Management Board Chairman Wolfgang Stockmeyer.
