BTA appoints Management Board Chairman

BTA Baltic Insurance Company AAS (hereinafter – BTA) makes changes to the composition of its Management Board on 30 November 2018 – BTA Management Board Member Wolfgang Stockmeyer has been appointed as the Management Board Chairman, while the Management Board Member Oskars Hartmanis will assume the post of Deputy Management Board Chairman, with the terms of the current members Evija Matveja and Tadeuš Podvorski as BTA Management Board Members extended.

 

During last years, BTA has become an insurance market leader in the Baltic States, ranking second in the insurance industry, by signing 156.6 million euros in gross insurance premiums in 9 months of 2018.

 

BTA Management Board Member Wolfgang Stockmeyer will go on working in the management board as the Management Board Chairman as of 30 November 2018. He started working for BTA as a Management Board Member in October 2016, following the VIG Group’s deal of purchasing BTA’s shares, the areas he became in charge of were finance, reinsurance and actuary. Prior to that, from 2010 through October 2016, Wolfgang Stockmeyer worked in Vienna Insurance Group AG Wiener Versicherung Gruppe companies in Poland as a Management Board Member in life insurance company Compensa TUnŽ S.A. Vienna Insurance Group, supervising the operation of sales units, as well as a Management Board Member in non-life insurance company Compensa TU S.A. Vienna Insurance Group, being in charge of the health insurance segment. Wolfgang Stockmeyer has a nearly 20-year long working record in the insurance field, which allows using the accumulated experience and knowledge for implementation of yet more ambitious development plans.
